Wei H. Yang, Ph.D., Director, Product Development
Dr. Yang brings to WellGen more than 20 years of food industry experience. Prior to joining WellGen, he was with Cliffstar Corporation for 10 years, where he held roles of increasing responsibility in research, product development, quality assurance, and processing operations. His last role at Cliffstar was Sr. Director of Food Technology and Processing Operations. At Cliffstar, he also led the technical development of functional ingredients, an initiative that evolved into ShanStar Biotech. Before his Cliffstar years, he held several positions in Brazil. These included food engineering, plant management, and quality assurance positions at Gumaco Ind. Com., Costa Pinto Ind. De Alim., and Frigorifico Bordon S/A, respectively. Dr. Yang holds a Ph.D. degree in Food Science from Cornell University and a B.Sc degree in Food Engineering from the Universidade de Campinas, Brazil.
